On-device AI
Your writing is processed on your iPhone. Nothing is sent anywhere for AI.
Your own API key
The context a request needs goes to the provider you choose, such as OpenAI, Claude, Gemini or DeepSeek. That provider’s policies and data terms apply.
Everglow Cloud
The request passes through Everglow’s hosted service to OpenAI. Everglow retains no content after the request completes.
Other privacy controls
- App lock with Face ID or a passcode.
- Optional iCloud backup, stored as an encrypted snapshot in your private CloudKit database.
- Plain Markdown export, so your words are never locked in.
Does Everglow train AI on my journal?
No. Everglow never uses your writing to train any model. If you use your own API key, that provider’s data terms apply.
Can I use Everglow without AI?
Yes. You can keep a journal without asking any AI to process it.
